Kupu Kupu Jimbaran

Located in the south of the island of Bali, the charming small fishing village Jimbaran is home to the famous fish market, luxury beach resorts and one of the most perfect white sand beaches of Bali. After all the fabulous shopping and clubbing in places like Seminyak, Kuta and Ubud, the calm atmosphere of Jimbaran is ideal for those who wish to unwind and do absolutely nothing, while enjoying the beach and the most delicious sea food.

During the day the high tide is perfect for long walks along the water, while marveling at the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Due to the 4 kilometer stretch of Jimbaran beach you will find large patches of it deserted, giving you a lot more peace in contrast to how crowded beaches often can be. In the evening, the low tide allows for even more space on the beach and the clusters of seafood restaurants set up all of their tables on the sand for guests to have dinner while the sun sets. With all of the restaurants lighting candles on each and every single table, the view at dusk is quite spectacular, like a sea of thousands of candles flickering in the soft ocean breeze.

Beach Club & Resort

As with a few other four and five star resorts in the area, hotel Kupu Kupu Jimbaran has their own beach club along the promenade, offering day loungers for free to their hotel guests. We strongly recommend the fresh young coconut from the bar (but then yet again, these are super delicious everywhere in Bali) and the freshly squeezed fruit juices, such as the fresh strawberry juice. Life just doesn’t get any better when you can just recline in the comfortable lounge beds and enjoy the view of the clear blue ocean while listening to the reggae infused ambient music that’s being played. The walk from the hotel to the beach is less than 10 minutes, but if you feel like you just can’t be bothered they also provide a free buggy ride from the hotel to the beach club and back.

For those who plan on staying more than a few days, the resort offers a multitude of amenities such as a rooftop swimming pool, a mini shopping mall, three different restaurants and the Bamboo spa by l’Occitane.

We chose this wonderful hotel not only for its amenities and location, but even more so because of the stylish interior design and intimate atmosphere. Each suite has been conceptualized as a personal retreat, but the absolute height of luxury can be experienced with the honeymoon suite as your accommodation.

Honeymoon Suite

Spacious, luxurious and comfortably appointed, the honeymoon suite is designed showcasing architectural splendor, with all the ethnic charms of Bali. We were told while being escorted to the room that this was the biggest suite of the hotel and we definitely could not contest this claim as we set foot in the suite.

The room was absolutely huge, offering two separate lounge areas, of which one was designed to be a lounge and dining area, while also appearing to be an art gallery with structures and pedestals, displaying a variety of traditional and modern paintings and sculptures. The other lounge area was set up as a home cinema theatre, offering a large flat-screen tv with surround sound and the most soft and comfy sofa.

On the way walking over to the bedroom, the two spacious his and hers walk-in closets provide the perfect space to store suitcases and conveniently layout and arrange your clothes. The open bathroom offers all conveniences, with the large round jacuzzi as the icing on the cake. Leading us to the ultimate cherry on top; the fabulous and romantic circular bedroom. With the king-size round bed centered in the middle of the room, the deep burgundy round walls surrounding it are adorned by the beautiful silver baroque armoires and mirrors, enchantingly reflecting the ambient lighting. Finding ourselves in such extraordinary surroundings as these, no one can really blame us for just staying in and ordering room service for dinner. However, we would be missing out on all of the phenomenal restaurants in the area, but more about that in a future post…
