Repeatedly struck by wanderlust in 2019, our travel adventures almost made us forget how beautiful our original hometown is. The Damrak avenue in Amsterdam stretches from Central Station to the famous Dam Square, offering those who stroll down the Eastside pavement a stunning view of the canal houses near the monumental Beurs van Berlage. The traditional houses -built in the 16th century- appear to be dancing on the water, as they slightly crookedly sank into the soil they were built on. The pale winter hues of the city streets remind us how cozy the cold season can be, as the roofs of the narrow buildings almost seem to disappear into the powdery January sky. Matching this bleached color scene, her look consists of a long faux fur coat over a beige sweater dress with snake print over-knee boots, flanked by his brown and beige outfit which features plaid pants and a patent jacket over a sweater. Our warm ensembles are all we need to brave the cool chills, until we catch dromomania again and start booking flights. Because no matter how lovely Amsterdam is, home is wherever I’m with you.
